San Francisco — Victoria Jones, the daughter of Academy Award–winning actor Tommy Lee Jones, was found dead at a San Francisco hotel on New Year’s Day, her family confirmed in a statement released Friday. She was 34.
Local authorities said a woman identified as Victoria Jones was discovered unresponsive at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown San Francisco early Thursday morning. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene, and the case was referred to the city’s medical examiner. Officials said the cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
A representative for Tommy Lee Jones shared a brief statement from Victoria Jones’ family acknowledging her death and requesting privacy.
“We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers,” the statement said. “Please respect our privacy during this difficult time.”
Emergency Response and Investigation
The San Francisco Fire Department said it was dispatched to the Fairmont Hotel on Mason Street shortly before 3 a.m. following a report of a medical emergency. After paramedics determined the individual had died, police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner assumed control of the scene.
The medical examiner’s office later confirmed the identity of the deceased as Victoria Jones but did not release further details. The San Francisco Police Department has not publicly commented on the circumstances surrounding the case.
In a separate statement, the Fairmont Hotel said it was “deeply saddened” by the incident and confirmed it is cooperating fully with authorities as the investigation continues.

Victoria Jones was the daughter of Tommy Lee Jones and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. As a child and teenager, she appeared in several acting roles, including alongside her father in the 2002 film Men in Black II.
Tommy Lee Jones, 79, is a veteran actor known for his performances in films such as The Fugitive, for which he won an Academy Award, as well as JFK, No Country for Old Men, and Lincoln.
